You don’t have to be a jetsetter to earn air miles and fly for free. There are a number of ways to start clocking points, and before you know it you’ll be flying without paying a cent or even upgrading from economy to Business or First Class.
The easiest way to get points is to sign up for loyalty schemes with airlines. The most common of these are generally alliance hotels or credit cards; Lufthansa have a huge number of deals constantly updated on Miles & More.
If you apply for the Lufthansa Miles & More Partner Card before October 31, for example, you and the new cardholder can each earn up to 7,500 award miles. Why not then sign up for a 3-month subscription to DIE WELT? If you do before 31 October 2016, they’ll give you 13,000 miles just to say thanks. Now you’re already up to 20,500 miles, without even setting foot inside an airport.
The Hilton HHonors promotion is another easy way to start earning. Simply sign up for the promotion and you can earn triple award miles whenever you book and stay at any Hilton HHonors Hotel between 1 September and 30 November 2016.
Here’s one last tip before you get started: always plan your travel in advance, as the earlier you book, the more likely you’ll be to secure a seat. Flights typically open 11 months in advance, so get in early.
Whether you choose to spend your points on entire flights or upgrade your pre-purchased seats is completely up to you. Either way, start taking advantage of these promotions now!
