Flight ticket refund according to the
Cancellation of your flight
due to the corona virus
Currently, more and more customers are reporting to us about problems with a refund of their already paid air tickets for flights that are no longer taking place and have been cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic.
Most airlines have deactivated the online refund functions on their websites and it is almost impossible to contact an airline employee.
The offer of the airlines is then usually limited to a free rebooking or the issue of a voucher, which can sometimes have a higher value than the original flight price. From the airline’s point of view, this has two advantages: firstly, the customer is still bound to the company and secondly, no payments have to be made and the liquid funds remain in the company.
Whether one wants to get involved is of course up to each individual.
In the end, no customer has to accept this offer. The Passenger Rights Regulation clearly provides that in the event of cancellation, passengers have the right to a refund of the ticket, to be made within seven days.
