As one of the largest airlines in Germany, Air Berlin has brought millions of passengers to their destination every year. In August 2017, however, the airline had to file for insolvency. The last flights were operated until October of the same year.
Many passengers who experienced a delay or cancellation of a flight with Air Berlin, or who were denied boarding, are now wondering whether they can still receive compensation under EU Regulation 261/2004.
Due to the insolvency Air Berlin no longer has to pay compensation.
In addition, since the beginning of the insolvency proceedings, no more claims can be made against the airline.
